The Symposium on the Struggle for Rights in the Educational Lives of Visually Impaired Youth Is Now Available!
Education is one of every individual’s most fundamental rights. So, how well do you know your legal rights regarding education? Do you know what legal avenues you can pursue when faced with barriers?
As the Community of Young People with Visual Impairments, we continue to work to advocate for equal opportunities in education, overcome barriers together, and speak out for our rights with an even stronger voice!
We are pleased to present a very special session as part of the “Strong Steps for Visually Impaired Youth Project” —one of the most important milestones in achieving our goal—which we are carrying out under the European Solidarity Program and with a grant from the Turkish National Agency: The recording of the “Symposium on the Struggle for Rights in the Educational Lives of Visually Impaired Youth” is now available on all digital platforms!
We Discussed Our Rights with Legal Experts in the Field
In this instructional session, which we held via Google Meet on June 19, 2026, we took an in-depth look at rights violations encountered in the educational setting, legal remedies, and ways to resolve them.
We were joined on the show by two highly respected legal experts:
- Attorney Rüveyda Bilge ÖZMEN
- Attorney Çağrı YILDIRIM
Together with our guests, we discussed a wide range of topics in detail—from legislation on the rights of people with disabilities to practical challenges faced at universities, and from on-campus accessibility to legal remedies.
Listen to Take Stronger Steps Toward the Future!
We invite all young people, academics, and advocates who wish to stand up for their right to education, know that they are not alone, and move forward into the future with greater confidence to listen to this valuable publication.
